Weeping Man Ruins

A tan stone ruins in the heart of Chestnut Woods in the village of Durrow.

The ruins deep have long puzzled historians. The current theory is that they were built in honour of the many pilgrims who lost their lives to the cold of the Fell Winter. However, there were no permanent settlements in the Midgewater Basin at that time. Stranger still is the prominence of the Star of Cardolan in the stonework, as Cardolani imagery fell out of favour centuries before this structure could have been built. On the central platform, carved in Old Breeish, is the phrase: "Only the strongest men find it in their hearts to cry. A man who cries for others does not die."
