Kissing Willow

An old willow growing on the banks of Ruby Lake in the village of Durrow.

Most willows are very short-lived, lasting only 30 to 40 years. But this silvery-barked weeping willow is at least 70 years old. Generations of romantic youth have shared their first kisses and pledged their intentions beneath this tree's gently waving boughs. Because of its unusual lifespan, the willow is said to bring good luck to any couple who shares a kiss in its shade.
